We're still recovering from the convention, but have quite a bit to post about. shooting to update everything on Monday.
Original Post:
We've got quite a bit going on with AFO this year, and we're pretty excited about it.
The first big thing is the story.
This will be the third and last year of the "Swords of Orlandia" theme and I guess as a sort of send-off bonus, the story is now an anthology and will be published in a separate book from the convention guide and distributed at the show itself. One of the stories is done by our very own Heather Scott and can be read online here, while the rest of the Swords of Orlandia online story can be found here (you might actually want to read this first).
The book itself is very much worth picking up because it contains the complete Swords of Orlandia saga, which is full of some awesome and unusual characters that hundreds of con-goers have sworn allegiance to in the years past.
Now... the story isn't over yet!
The story will actually come to fruition AT THE SHOW and there are some really cool ways that you can be a part of it. Much like in the two years past, the convention is running a game throughout the weekend and the outcome of the game will effect the outcome of the story.. The details of this can be found by clicking here.
As another way to help support this theme, Heather will be stilt-walking for the opening ceremonies and then will serve as the opening DJ at the rave on Saturday. Huzzah!
Another fun thing to look forward to is the charity event, which might just be the coolest charity event in the history of charity events!
"Whack-A-Nerd for Charity" is exactly what it sounds like. You pay a dollar, and you get to whack one of the designated convention nerds with a foam weapon for 30 seconds. How can you beat that!
Dragonmun Studios will have the usual table in artist alley - where we will be selling comics and merchandise in addition to chit-chatting till we're blue in the face. come on by!
