Heather Scott, owner of Dragonmun Studios and Comics, was born in Orlando, Florida, on August 15, 1982 and is a dedicated artist on the convention scene in her home town.
Since her graduation from high school in the year 2000, where she was an integral part of the design program, Heather has been all over the freelancing circuit using her expertise in graphic art and design to further her goals. In addition to working for her Associates in Science Degree, she has participated in design projects ranging anywhere from simple business cards and commissions to extravagant yet interactive websites such as the home to her online role-playing setting: http://sivoa.dragonmun.com.
These skills, mixed with the ability to lead a team effectively, were put to the test during her time with the
Japanese Animation Club of Orlando, where she served as Art Director for three years. This job included hosting contests for the club's numerous events as well maintaining the extensive art show and auction for the successful convention,
JACON.
Her convention and trade-show life doesn't end there, however, for she is a regular exhibitor at the cities largest comic book convention, Megacon as well as Anime Festival Orlando and the FX show and toy fair. Here, in addition to hosting comic panels, she sells merchandise such as plushies and pins, for her hit webcomic,
Samurai Mushroom. She also sells single issues of her popular self-published comics,
Sivoa and
Wyrm Eat Brain.
Some of her most recent works include a children's book now in select bookstores,
Captain Halloween, which is a story about the advent of Halloween's first super hero. She has also been commissioned to do storyboard work for a movie still in production, as well as design magazine covers for
The Write-On Speakers Bureau catalogue. In 2005, she was awarded a leadership grant for her work on
The Valencia Source website.
When Heather isn't working hard to meet commission deadlines, or doing homework, she can be found drawing or writing something that everyone is sure to love. Her attention to detail and dedication to art in all its forms has allowed her to master every artistic medium she has encountered and that makes her truely unique as an artist.
