Hidden Florida

Updated: Sep 8
Art For All Spaces proudly presents Hidden Florida, a special exhibition opening Thursday, September 17, 2026, with a public reception from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at CityArts in downtown Orlando. The exhibition will remain on view through October 11, 2026.
Florida is known around the world for its beaches, theme parks, and famous tourist destinations. Yet beyond the familiar attractions lies another Florida—one filled with remarkable places, forgotten history, hidden natural landscapes, unique architecture, overlooked businesses, and cultural treasures that most people never experience.
Hidden Florida celebrates those places and stories. Rather than depicting what appears on travel brochures, participating artists were challenged to discover the extraordinary in the overlooked. Visitors will encounter artwork inspired by secluded parks, quiet neighborhoods, little-known museums, family-owned diners with virtually no advertising, foreign consulates hidden in plain sight, independent art galleries, historic landmarks, and countless other locations that reveal the rich diversity of the Sunshine State.
The exhibition encourages residents and visitors alike to look beyond Florida's famous attractions and appreciate the remarkable places that exist just outside the spotlight. Every artwork serves as an invitation to explore, ask questions, and discover something new about the state many call home
Participating artists include Patricia Byron, Eric Wise, H. Gorlitz Scott, Jolie Spelman, Samantha Levine, Ken Cashon, Cathy Hempel, Teri Chin, Vera Gubnitskaia, Bob Smedley, Joyce Hayes, Natasha Schaidt, Cheryl Ceullar, John Baker, Juliana Davidson Ross, Dafeney Josue, Debra Knispel, Parker Sketch, and Belina Wright.

PARKING: CityArts will validate parking in the Plaza garage across the street. Street parking is free after 6:00pm, and the garage directly connected to CityArts is $2 per hour.
